Israeli Army Shells Southern Lebanese Town of Arnoun with Phosphorus

(MENAFN) The Israeli military bombarded the southern Lebanese town of Arnoun on Monday using phosphorus shells, according to Lebanese news agency.

The news agency reported that the town in the Nabatieh district was struck with what it described as “Israeli artillery shelling with internationally prohibited phosphorus shells,” according to reports.

In the same district, Israeli warplanes also targeted the town of Toul, destroying several residential buildings, the agency said.

Additional airstrikes were reported in Kfar Tebnit and the Wadi al-Nahr area near Zawtar al-Sharqiyah, according to the same source.

In the Tyre district, Israeli aircraft struck the Burj al-Shamali area, while two further raids hit the towns of Siddiqin and Bazouriyeh, according to reports.

In the Bint Jbeil district, airstrikes were also carried out on Frun and Qlaweya.

Earlier on Monday, the news agency reported that one person was killed and eight others were injured in an Israeli strike on Ma’raka in the Tyre district, according to reports.
